1986
The Beginning
Founded by Gerry Quinn to develop products compatible with the niche market of Single Spring Mechanical Seals, all from his lounge.
1989
Our First Vulcan Seals Office
A single room office on the second floor of Westgate Chambers in Rotherham was our first real home.
1990
Our Move to Attercliffe
In 4 years, our company had grown enough to secure its first premises, March Street in Attercliffe.
1994
First Official Headquarters
Over the decade, as the business grew, Vulcan Seals moved to its current headquarters in the heart of Sheffield, UK.
The site houses our sales, commercial and support offices, automated logistics systems, quality and inspection facilities, product warehouses, and the global distribution centre.
Turn of the Millenium
Strategic US Expansion
Vulcan Seals solidified its industry leadership by integrating two leading American manufacturers into its portfolio, acquiring O-Rings Inc. (Chicago) and subsequently Universeal (Pennsylvania) to enhance domestic production capabilities.
2007
IS0 9001:2015
Achievement of ISO 9001 which continues today throughout our manufacturing and distribution capabilities (ISO 9001:2015).
2010
Opening of Vulcan Seals Inc
Vulcan Seals Inc. opened in Minneapolis, MN, to replicate the UK facility and support our growing demand in the North American market.
2012
£10 Million Target
Achievement of £10 million turnover target was marked with a celebratory trip of a lifetime to NYC for all employees and their partners.
2018
A Milestone in Global Growth
Vulcan Seals continued its trajectory of global growth by acquiring the O-ring manufacturer, Eastern Seals. This increased our production capacity and strengthened our commitment to delivering high-quality sealing solutions.
2022
Netherlands Operational Hub
Vulcan Engineering B.V. opened in Zuid-Beijerland, to replicate the UK distribution facility and support our growing demand in the European market.
2022
Houston Texas Facility
Vulcan Seals Inc. opened in Houston, TX, to replicate the UK commercial and production facility and support our growing demand in the North American market.
